Jason

Jason started singing and performing in musicals at school. He wanted
to play the trumpet but was told by his music teacher that there were
no trumpets, but that ‘the trombone
is the same thing anyway’. So, upon these wise words, Jason
became a trombone player and spent many years transporting the
instrument around on the back of a bicycle. Until someone recommended a
cappella singing, which is much more portable.
Jason has been
singing in chorus and quartet since 1996. A few years ago, work
commitments meant a break from singing, but he ended up sitting around
at home being miserable, so his wife sent him out to join another
chorus. In 2008 he joined The Royal Harmonics, and shortly afterwards
was invited to join Meltdown, who were in search of a new lead.
Apart from singing,
Jason’s great love is Lindyhop and other forms of swing dancing, which
he shares with his wife Anne. Work-wise, Jason is in charge of health,
safety and environment for a large financial services organisation,
which means ensuring that the corporation operates in a sustainable
way, with due care for people and the environment.
